Kamala Harris shares a candid message for Trump supporters as she breaks her silence after months

Following her defeat in the presidential race to Donald Trump, Kamala Harris has reemerged to address the growing atmosphere of fear she believes is spreading across the country under Trump’s leadership.

On April 3, Harris delivered a powerful message at the Leading Women Defined Summit in California. Though she didn’t name Trump directly, her comments alluded to the impact of his sweeping policies — from global tariffs to controversial executive orders that many argue challenge legal norms. Her remarks painted a picture of a nation grappling with uncertainty and concern.

“In times like these,” Harris said, “when a single person or a small group acts with courage — the kind of courage I see in this room every day — it matters. It takes bravery to say you’re afraid, to admit something is wrong, and to insist there’s a better path forward.”

She continued, “Our democracy still belongs to us, but only if we choose to protect it. Courage is contagious.”

Harris went on to express that recent events have confirmed many fears she and others had long anticipated. “This isn’t about saying ‘I told you so,’” she noted, “but rather acknowledging that the signs were there — and now we’re living through them.”

Congressman Jamie Raskin echoed Harris’ concerns during a conversation with Jen Psaki on MSNBC. He backed Harris’ sentiment, pushing back on claims that Democrats have been silent.

“People kept asking where the Democratic leadership was,” Raskin said. “The truth is, it takes time to process the scale of what’s unfolding. We’re watching a push toward authoritarianism, the targeting of federal employees, and attacks from every direction.”

He added, “But make no mistake — we’re standing firm. The fight has truly begun.”

Since stepping back after the election, Harris has kept a relatively low profile. However, she’s now beginning to reengage more publicly. According to The Grio, she is rumored to be considering a run for California governor in 2026.
