Sofronio Vasquez brings the house down with a tearful performance of ‘A Million Dreams’ at his homecoming show

Sofronio Vasquez, the champion of “The Voice USA,” has returned to his homeland, the Philippines, where he was warmly celebrated with a grand homecoming on the popular noontime program, “It’s Showtime.”

During Monday’s episode, Sofronio opened the show with a medley of songs, accompanied by fellow “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” alumni and judges, including Nyoy Volante, Darren Espanto, and Yeng Constantino.

For the finale, Sofronio captivated the audience with a heartfelt rendition of “A Million Dreams,” the song that secured his victory during the finals of “The Voice USA.”

Reflecting on his journey, the talented singer credited “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” and “It’s Showtime” for giving him his first big break.

“Every time I look back, I remember how ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’ noticed me when I auditioned. It’s where everything started,” he said, visibly emotional.

Vice Ganda proudly referred to Sofronio as the pride of “Tawag Ng Tanghalan.”

“My journey didn’t end with the competition (‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan’),” Sofronio shared. “‘It’s Showtime’ opened doors for me to become a vocal coach, which shaped my career.”

The Filipino artist also took a moment to thank his coach from “The Voice USA,” Michael Bublé.

“I’m so grateful to coach Michael Bublé. I know he’s watching—thank you for embracing Filipino talent,” he expressed.

Sofronio, who made history as the first Filipino and Asian to win “The Voice USA,” is now gearing up for his debut solo concert, scheduled to take place in Cebu on January 18.
